Unbound Productions’ Theatre Education Program
Schools Program
Unbound staff and teaching artists conduct free, comprehensive, interactive playwriting workshops with students in Pasadena public high schools who have no or little other access to arts education. These workshops culminate with students writing dramatic adaptations of classic short stories which are then performed by a group of Unbound’s professional actors. Our workshops have been developed in conjunction with seasoned public school educators and with insight from the Pasadena Unified School District. The sessions will focus on literary and theatrical vocabulary, text analysis, creative writing, expression and investigative learning. Unbound provides this program to schools free of charge.
To date we have worked with 71 students who have adapted 17 adaptations of W.W. Jacob’s The Monkey’s Paw.

Our schools program is generously supported by the Spero Foundation of Sierra Madre.
Internship Program
Full-time and part-time college students can work with Unbound in a variety of departments so long as they are able to earn course credit for their contributions. Opportunities include production design, stage management, front of house management, production management and marketing/fundraising.
Interns are unpaid but will gain valuable hands-on experience and contacts (in addition to the required course credit). It is the perspective intern’s responsibility to present Unbound with the process for which they can earn course credit for their involvement with one of our productions or our organization. Be proactive! We greatly value proactivity.
